Intro
This blog is intended to be centered around art. I want to challenge myself to daily create something and post it here. Maybe I'll do a new daily challenge every month? I make the rules around here, so yeah. Sounds good. =)
This first month, until the end of January, every day i'm going create a piece using unconventional materials. No pencil or paint or graphite or ink. This is kind of an extension of what I started with my final project (kind of an oxymoronic idea--to begin with something final...) in my Life Drawing class, which involved arranging leaves to form a figure...or rather the negative space around and the dark shadows of a figure. The project itself was inspired by some of the works of Vik Muniz . That project was really read as being environmental art, since it was not permanent, but mostly because it was created out of leaves-- nature. What I want to explore is not really environmental art, but the transitory nature of what using non-traditional mediums will entail, as well as the obvious and forced creativity of using these mediums. I hated ripping all those leaves off their plants...
